Ear Infection

from Requests by The Peach Tree

/

about

Made on request for the user Unwashed, aka. Mark Whitby of Dandelion Radio. Mark plays The Peach Tree’s tunes on his radio programme, a journey into sound inspired by the late great John Peel, so it was a pleasure to fulfil his request for a song “On the subject of ear infections picked up from swimming pools.”

lyrics

i can't believe it, how could i have been such a fool
the weather was hot and the water was so cool
but was it really worth it, looking back on it all
getting an ear infection from a public swimming pool

my head feels like jelly and my brain hurts bad
i regret whatever good times at the pool i had
but the chicks looked so hot and i bought some new bathers
how could i resist those chlorinated waters

but like, if you go swimming, chlorine or no
there's bound to be people going to and fro
who haven't had their ears flushed in like half a decade
and that, my friend, is the ultimate price paid

bacteria spreads like some sort of disease (duh),
filling your eardrums with sinister ease
and soon they'll be gooing a yellowy sleaze
you've got an ear infection man, stay away from me please

the weather was hot and the water was cool
but it was unsanitary and you were a fool
to make this rhyme work dandelion radio rules
and you caught an ear infection at a public swimming pool

word.
